€70 million guaranteed for Ghana's wastewater treatment plants
25 January 2022
A new financing agreement has been signed between the local flagship Jospong Group of Companies (JGC) and the Hungarian government. The €70 million loan, which will be granted through Exim Bank of Hungary, will be used for the construction of 13 wastewater treatment plants in several regions of Ghana.
JGC will work with Pureco, a Hungarian-based company, under a public-private partnership (PPP) for the implementation of the project. The new plants will support existing ones, including three facilities built with a loan from Hungary.
Zoomlion, a subsidiary of the Jospong Group, will operate the future Tema wastewater treatment plant.
