Kuwait announces plans for new airport
12 January 2022
The construction of a new airport in the northern part of Kuwait has been green lit by authorities. The setting up of the new airport comes in line with the studies and proposals of the fourth structural plan for Kuwait.
In November 2021, authorities announced plans to spend nearly $8.2bn on 14 strategic projects aimed at developing the country’s main airport. The key projects include a new terminal, T-2 that is being built at an estimated cost of $5bn at Kuwait International Airport, which can accommodate 25m passengers per annum in addition to a third runway and a control tower.
