CMEC signs $1.8 billion Turkish railway project
29 November 2021
Recently, CMEC and the Turkish Ministry of Transport signed an EPC contract for the Aksaray-Ulukisla-Yenice railway project in Turkey, with a total contract value of approximately US$1.8 billion.
Turkey's AUY railway has a total length of 196 kilometers and a design speed of 250 kilometers per hour. It is a double-track electrified passenger high-speed railway. The project passes through the four provinces of Turkey, Aksaray, Nied, Adana and Mersin.
The design, procurement and construction of the project were completed by CMEC and local partners. CMEC is mainly engaged in the supply and construction of communication, electrical, signal, interactive systems, and rails. This is the "main backbone" and "neural network" of high-speed rail, which has the characteristics of high technical content and high industrial added value. The infrastructure construction work along the railway, such as "opening roads in mountains and building bridges in rivers", is completed by experienced Turkish partners.
The successful signing of the Turkish high-speed rail project is an important milestone in CMEC's deepening of the Turkish market. CMEC has been rooted in Turkey for more than 40 years and has been engaged in fields ranging from energy and power projects to various housing construction projects and railway projects.
