Turner and MCN Build Joint Venture Awarded Contract to Build New Hospital in Washington, D.C.

The new 136-bed, $375 million hospital will improve access healthcare to community members
The joint venture of Turner Construction Company and MCN Build were awarded the construction management contract for the construction of a new hospital at St. Elizabeths East in Washington, D.C. by Universal Health Services.
The new 136-bed acute care hospital and ambulatory care pavilion will offer a wide array of critical health and specialty services to the community. The state-of-the-art facility will include maternal health and newborn nursery and obstetric services. Additional services will include trauma care, orthopedic, cardiac, hypertension, cancer, kidney, rehabilitation, general surgery and mental health.

The Turner|MCN team have agreed to invest at least 35% with local certified business enterprises (CBEs). Grant continued, “We look forward to engaging with the community in order to maximize their involvement during the construction of the facility.”
Construction on the project is scheduled to start in the second quarter of 2022. The ambulatory pavilion is scheduled to open in 2023, and the hospital is scheduled to open in 2024.
