Skanska wins more work on $950m Portland airport redevelopment

Skanska has signed an additional contract with the Port of Portland for improvements to the Portland International Airport (PDX) in Oregon in a joint venture with Hoffman Construction Company.
Skanska its share of the contract is worth $80m, which will be included in the US order bookings for the fourth quarter 2020.
The contract includes work on PDX’s Terminal Core Redevelopment project, which is due to finish in 2025.
Hoffman Construction Company this as a $950m complete remodelling of the terminal core, intended to accommodate an expected rise in annual passenger numbers to 33 million by 2045, up from some 20 million a year seen before Covid.
Working with Skanska, Hoffman will install a new 9-acre roofing system over the entire terminal core complex, build a 150-foot multi-floor addition between Concourses C and D, and add new pre- and post-security concessions.
The project also involves rebuilding and enlarging Concourse B, which entails demolishing Concourse A and the old Concourse B.
Work is phased to maintain uninterrupted airport service.
