Eiffage wins €120m solar project in Spain
31 October 2020
The Spanish subsidiary of France’s Eiffage Énergie Systèmes has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction contract worth some €120m to build a 250 MWp (megawatt peak) solar power complex in Spain’s Albacete province.
The project involves building five adjacent photovoltaic plants at Bonete for Elawan Energy, and a 3.4km power line.
Just over 563,000 solar modules will be installed across over 400 hectares to power close to 122,000 homes and generate an estimated 96.5 GWp of energy a year.
Eiffage said the complex would be “Europe’s largest collector of renewable energy”.
Handover is set to take place at the end of 2021.
Since 2010, the Spanish subsidiary, Eiffage Energía, has built 70 solar plants around the world.
