DPR Construction Climbs to No. 3 on ENR’s 2026 Top Green Contractors List

DPR Construction, a forward-thinking, self-performing contractor, ranked No. 3 on Engineering News-Record’s 2026 Top Green Contractors list, up from No. 4 in 2025.

ENR’s annual Top Green Contractors list ranks firms based on revenue from construction services on projects registered with or certified by third-party organizations that establish standards for environmental impact, energy efficiency or carbon footprint.

“Every year, we challenge ourselves to find new and better ways to build more responsibly,” said George Pfeffer, DPR Construction CEO and Leadership Team member. “The decisions made on a project can have an impact long after construction is complete. That responsibility drives our teams to keep improving and innovating alongside our customers and partners to deliver industry leading results.”

The recognition comes as DPR continues to integrate sustainability into how projects are planned and delivered. Teams are incorporating environmental considerations into preconstruction, procurement and self-perform work, while expanding lifecycle analysis, developing guidance for lower-carbon materials and improving access to environmental product data. These efforts are helping teams evaluate options and reduce environmental impacts across projects.

“We are focused on demonstrating how our sustainability efforts translate into measurable results,” said Ryan Poole, who leads sustainability at DPR Construction. “That means evaluating embodied carbon to make smarter material choices, conserving water, advancing zero-waste practices and accelerating the use of lower-emission equipment. The goal is turning innovation into practical solutions our teams can scale across every project.”

Water strategies on major DPR projects saved more than 48 million gallons of freshwater in 2025 alone, according to DPR’s 2025 Global Social Responsibility Annual Report. The report also details expanded use of lower-carbon concrete, cleaner equipment and lower emission fuels.

DPR is also working to make its environmental performance more transparent. Its Path to Regeneration provides a roadmap for reducing carbon emissions across its value chain and strengthening accountability over time. Ongoing improvements to environmental data and reporting are helping DPR better understand its impacts and track progress.

Across ENR’s Top 100 Green Contractors, green contracting revenue increased 5.9% in 2025 to $101.9 billion. ENR also noted a more complex operating environment, with owners weighing sustainability goals alongside rising construction costs, labor constraints and shifting federal policies.
