Skanska wins two Scandinavian contracts worth €87m
8 March 2026
Skanska has signed two contracts in Scandinavia: a €59m contract involving new education and sports facilities in Gjerdrum, southern Norway, and a €28m refurbishment role in Helsinki, Finland.
In Norway, Skanska will work on behalf of Gjerdrum municipality to build a new kindergarten, primary school, sports hall, football pitches and community areas, which will replace the current school and kindergarten. The project has been designed with future expansion in mind.
The buildings will target a “Very Good” BREEAM-NOR certification, designed to reduce the municipality’s overall energy use for education and sports facilities by 40%.
Construction will begin immediately and is due to be completed by 2028.
In Finland, Skanska will work for Helsinki University Properties to refurbish laboratory facilities for the B and C wings of a building originally completed in 1966.
The primary works relate to modernising building services across a 9,000-sq-m area to current standards, with auxiliary work including creation of a new air‑handling unit room.
The facility will be used by Helsinki University Hospital’s diagnostic centre.
Construction is due to start in the first quarter of 2026 and finish in 2028.
