Xinyi Glass signed glass production project with Saudi’s MODON

On January 14, during the 2026 Future Minerals Forum, Xinyi Glass and the Saudi Industrial Cities and Technology Zones Authority (MODON) held a project signing ceremony. The event was witnessed by His Excellency Bandar Al-Khorayef, Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, and His Excellency KhalidAl-Falih, Saudi Minister of Investment.
Mr. Tung Ching Sai,Xinyi Glass Executive Director and CEO , attended the ceremony and signed the agreement on behalf of the company. This collaboration marks a significant achievement in Xinyi Glass’s active response to the Belt & Road Initiative and represents a key step in the group’s global strategic expansion and industrial extension into the Middle East region.
With a total investment of approximately USD 386 million and covering an area of over 350,000 square meters, the project will establish production lines for float glass, automotive glass, and high-performance Low-E energy-saving glass. The products will serve both the construction and automotive sectors.
Upon completion, the project will become Xinyi Glass’s flagship production base in the Middle East and Saudi Arabia’s first automotive glass manufacturer. It will fill a critical gap in the local industry, optimize the automotive supply chain, and introduce advanced manufacturing technology and high-quality products to Saudi Arabia’s glass sector.
The project will not only serve the domestic Saudi market but also supply regions including the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe. It will further support the strategic objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in industrial localization, export diversification, and the development of advanced manufacturing.
Xinyi Glass and MODON are committed to building this project into a benchmark for industrial cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia, contributing to the long-term growth of Saudi Arabia’s glass industry and the enhancement of regional manufacturing capabilities.
