CTG Asia-Africa Signs MOU for Solar PV Project in Malaysia

Recently, CTG Asia-Africa, Cahya Mata Development Sdn Bhd, and China Communications Construction Company (M) Sdn. Bhd. jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to advance the development of a ground-mounted solar photovoltaic project in Samalaju, Sarawak, Malaysia. The signing ceremony was held at the CCCC Building in Beijing, marking a significant milestone in tripartite cooperation towards renewable energy development.
Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad was represented by Group Chairman Dato Sri Sulaiman Abdul Rahman Bin Abdul Taib, together with Cahya Mata Development Sdn Bhd Managing Director Mr. Shaun Mok Chek Wei. As a well-established and influential conglomerate in Sarawak with profound expertise in renewable energy technology, engineering, and localized operations, the Group expressed its full commitment to the project.
During the ceremony, representatives from all parties held constructive discussions on the project overview, overall planning, local collaboration, and sustainable operations. Mr. Zhou Qiang, CEO of CTG Asia-Africa, highlighted that the project represents a key initiative in the company’s strategy to deepen its clean energy investments in Southeast Asia. He emphasized that it serves as an important demonstration for the systematic and large-scale development of high-quality solar resources in Sarawak, setting a benchmark for future regional renewable energy cooperation.

From China Communications Construction Company Ltd (International), Chairman Mr. Shi Yingtao, General Manager Mr. Peng Dapeng, and CCCC Malaysia General Manager Mr. Ni Qingjiu attended and addressed the ceremony. They reiterated CCCC’s commitment to leveraging its global experience in large-scale infrastructure and energy project management, cross-border collaboration, full-cycle execution, and localized implementation. CCCC will provide end-to-end professional support covering design optimization, construction, and operation and maintenance to ensure the project’s high-quality delivery and long-term operational reliability.
The signing of this MOU establishes a long-term strategic partnership among the three parties in the renewable energy sector of Sarawak, Malaysia and will contribute positively to the region’s green energy transition and sustainable development.
