SGPJB Earns AA ESG Rating for Power Project
15 October 2025On October 9, SGPJB received an AA rating in the ESG evaluation for power engineering projects, awarded by the China Electric Power Construction Association. Located in Serang, Banten Province, the company operates with a total installed capacity of 2×1050 MW. In December 2024, it was selected as one of the first pilot units for the association’s ESG evaluation program for power engineering projects.
During the ESG evaluation, the company organized its business departments to systematically compile materials and conduct a self-assessment in accordance with Guidelines for Preparing Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Self-Evaluation Reports for Power Engineering Projects. After undergoing application, review, expert field research and defense, the company ultimately earned an AA rating.
Committed to building an environmentally friendly and socially responsible energy enterprise, the company not only provides stable power supply to Indonesia but also actively promotes public welfare initiatives such as the Hope Village program, community assistance for nearby villages, river dredging, the Annie’s Wish education support project, and mangrove and wildlife conservation efforts.
By actively practicing ESG principles, the company has received several major honors, including the National Quality Engineering Gold Award (2022–2023), the Best ESG Program in Indonesia Award from Asian Power (2023), and Penghargaan Subroto 2024. The company stated that it will continue to follow the principles of extensive consultation and joint contribution for shared benefit and work together with local communities for mutual development.
