Qatar’s UCC Holding announces the launch of Damascus International Airport Project

Qatar’s UCC Holding announces that, the development work of Damascus International Airport has been launched.
The company stated that the Project will be executed through an international consortium led by UCC Holding of Qatar, with the participation of HESCO as the project designer, Dar Al-Handasah as the project manager, Assets Investments USA (USA), Cengiz, Kalyon, and TAV (Türkiye), in collaboration with Parsons (USA) and DG Jones as consultancy and engineering firms.
Works at this stage include Rehabilitation of the airport road between Lebanon and Syria up to the airport, through widening routes, improving entrances and exits, and promoting lighting and forestry.
Creating a new five-star hotel with 150 keys in cooperation with partners from Turkey and the United States, and managed by a global hospitality operator.
Development of Passenger Building No. (2) and all associated facilities, to improve service efficiency and improve passenger experience.
The project will then expand to include the redevelopment of Terminal 1, followed by Terminal 3, ultimately reaching a capacity of 31 million passengers per year.
This project is a strategic step to put Damascus International Airport on the map of regional and international aviation, strengthening its position as a modern gateway that connects the Middle East to the world and supports economic and social development, statement mentioned.
