HiTHIUM signed supply agreement for 3GWh BESS project across Europe
6 September 2025
HiTHIUM, a leading global company in long-duration energy storage technology, today announced it has signed a supply agreement (MSA) with Bertel O. Steen Power Solutions (BOS Power) to deliver 3GWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) for projects across Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Norway through 2027.
The agreement covers a pipeline of utility-scale projects ranging from 30MWh and up. HiTHIUM will supply its portfolio of DC blocks, including the ∞Power 6.25MWh 2h/4h BESS and ∞Block 5MWh BESS.
As part of the collaboration, HiTHIUM will provide technical training to BOS Power and authorize the company as a certified service provider, ensuring localized support and enhanced operational efficiency for end customers. Strategically positioned to support clients with projects, BOS Power leverages strong investor relationships rooted in its core business areas to deliver scalable energy solutions across market segments.
Innovations in Long Duration Energy Storage and Sodium-ion Battery Technologies
HiTHIUM continues to lead the industry with its ongoing innovations, including long-duration energy storage (LDES) solutions like the ∞Power 6.25MWh 4h BESS and sodium-ion battery technologies such as the ∞Cell N162Ah. The company's dedicated R&D efforts have resulted in breakthrough products designed to meet the growing demand for extended storage durations, enhanced safety, and cost-effectiveness in the renewable energy sector. Notably, HiTHIUM has recently achieved mass production and delivery of its next-generation ∞Cell 1175Ah and its 4h BESS, setting new industry benchmarks for energy density, cycle life, and reliability in large-scale storage applications.
With several pilot projects already deployed across multiple regions, HiTHIUM's long-duration BESS have demonstrated superior performance in grid stabilization, peak shaving, and renewable integration. These innovations have garnered significant market recognition, positioning HiTHIUM as a trusted partner for global projects worldwide.
HiTHIUM's First Project in Denmark
The first project under the agreement is already under construction in Denmark, marking HiTHIUM’s entry into the Nordic market.
"Partnering with BOS Power strengthens our presence in Northern Europe and supports the region's transition to a more flexible and renewable grid," said HiTHIUM's Kelson Li, Senior Director of Sales, DACH, Northern & Eastern Europe. "By combing our advanced energy storage technology with BOS Power 's expertise in large-scale energy storage and renewable integration, we are not only addressing the growing demand for local renewable energy supply and supporting the green transition – we are also shaping the future of energy innovation."
From BOS Power's perspective, the collaboration marks a key step forward: "This agreement highlights our commitment to delivering large-scale, high-quality energy storage systems across Northern Europe," says Kim Strate Kiegstad, Head of Energy Storage at BOS Power. "With HiTHIUM's advanced technology and our proven expertise in full EPC turnkey project execution and local integration, we are well placed to support customers in building reliable, flexible and sustainable energy infrastructure for the future."
