21 April 2025
Abu Dhabi-based Tadweer Group has entered into a agreement with China’s SFECO Group to explore the establishment of a manufacturing facility in Abu Dhabi, aimed at converting industrial solid waste into green building materials. This collaboration highlights the commitment of Tadweer Group to unlock the value of waste and promote circular economy practices, aligning with Abu Dhabi’s broader sustainability objectives. The proposed facility will leverage SFECO’s world-leading mineralisation and low-carbon cement technologies. This innovative approach aims to transform industrial waste into sustainable construction materials tailored for the local market.
Commitment to sustainable industrial practices
Ali Al Dhaheri, managing director and CEO of Tadweer Group, remarked, “This agreement reflects our ongoing strategy to forge international partnerships that bring innovative, scalable waste-to-value solutions to the UAE. Working with SFECO allows us to explore advanced technologies that could support our ambition to lead in sustainable industrial waste management while contributing to the nation’s green growth.”
Formation of joint working committee
A joint working committee will be established to evaluate the project’s viability and outline the future collaboration between the two parties. This initiative aims to move forward towards a definitive agreement, contingent upon the outcomes of the feasibility study.
Advancing integrated waste management
This partnership is a vital component of Tadweer Group’s overarching mission to enhance integrated waste management through strategic investments and technology transfers. It supports the UAE’s journey towards achieving net zero emissions and fostering a more circular economy.
