CWI signs landfill gas power generation project MOU in Indonesia

At 3 PM on March 20, 2025, China Water Industry Group Limited (hereinafter referred to as "CWI") officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Comprehensive Management of the TPA Blondo Landfill with the Regent of Semarang Regency in Indonesia. The cooperation covers landfill gas power generation, landfill operation, and comprehensive treatment of leachate.
Semarang Regency, located in the northern part of Central Java, Indonesia, will leverage the local landfill resources through this comprehensive landfill management and resource utilization project. Advanced landfill gas power generation technology and leachate treatment processes will be employed to achieve resource recycling and environmental sustainability.
This project marks CWI's first greenfield development overseas and represents a significant milestone in the company's overseas strategic transformation. Upon completion, it will not only effectively address local waste disposal issues but also provide green and clean energy to surrounding areas, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions annually.
The signing ceremony was held grandly at the Semarang Regency Government Building, attended by the Regent of Semarang Regency (NGESTI NUGRAHA), heads of the Environmental Protection Agency and relevant government offices, the General Manager of CWI's Overseas Business Department, and the head and team of the Indonesian project company. During the ceremony, representatives from both sides signed the cooperation agreement and expressed high expectations and confidence in the project's future prospects.
The successful signing of this project signifies CWI's solid step forward in the field of overseas greenfield development. It is not only an important achievement in realizing the company's overseas strategic transformation but also another significant measure in its commitment to green development and promoting the renewable energy transition of the Indonesian government.
