UAE’s AMEA Power Signs 1GW Investment Agreement in Uzbekistan
15 January 2025AMEA Power, UAE announces that it has signed key agreements for groundbreaking renewable energy projects in Uzbekistan.
The Company has signed the Investment Agreement (IA) for a 1GW wind project located in Karakalpakstan. The IA was signed by H.E. Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Hussain Al Nowais, Chairman of AMEA Power.
Furthermore, the company has signed the IA and Battery Storage Service Agreement (BSSA) for a standalone 300MWh BESS project. These agreements were signed by Shokhrukh Karabayev, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Uzenergosotish JSC, Hussain Al Nowais, Chairman of AMEA Power, and Basma Bentaher, Chief Development Officer of AMEA Power.
These agreements were signed on the sidelines of the official visit of H.E. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of Uzbekistan to the United Arab Emirates.
