AMEA Power awarded two battery energy storage projects in South Africa

AMEA Power, UAE announce that the company has awarded two projects in the Battery Energy Storage Independent Power Producers Procurement Programme (BESIPPPP) Window 2 in South Africa, organized by the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy.
The Gainfar Project and Boitekong Project, both located in the Free State, with a capacity of more than 300MWh each.
The Projects will play a pivotal role in strengthening Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd’s grid stability and addressing the ongoing challenges of blackouts and load shedding.
The Gainfar Project will connect with the Ngwedi substation, whilst the Boitekong Project will connect with the Marang substation. These projects are key in the country’s journey towards a more resilient and sustainable energy future.
