Envision to bring turbine and energy storage manufacture to Kazakhstan
4 December 2024
Global green technology leader Envision Energy is advancing Kazakhstan’s green energy transition by partnering with Samruk Energy and Kazakhstan Utility Systems.
The strategic agreement involves establishing local manufacturing facilities for wind turbines and energy storage systems in Kazakhstan, aiming to enhance the country’s renewable energy capacity and accelerate its transition to a green economy.
The collaboration will see Envision Energy providing advanced technical support in the design, manufacture and operation of smart wind turbines and energy storage systems.
Kazakhstan Utility Systems CEO Sabyrgali Idrisov stated: “Collaboration with Envision Energy and Kazakhstan Utility Systems presents Kazakhstan with unique opportunities to advance renewable energy development and localise high-tech production.
“This is not just a step toward energy independence but also a catalyst for creating new jobs, enhancing the skills of local specialists and strengthening our role in the global green transition. We are proud to be part of this important project, which will make a significant contribution to the sustainable development of our country.”
By localising production, the initiative aims to meet domestic market demand, reduce transportation costs and minimise environmental impacts within the supply chain.
Envision Energy senior vice-president and president of international product lines Kane Xu stated: “We are excited to partner with Samruk Energy and Kazakhstan Utility Systems on this pioneering initiative.
“The project marks a significant step in Kazakhstan’s green transformation and aligns perfectly with our commitment to fostering sustainable energy solutions worldwide. Leveraging our cutting-edge industry expertise, Envision will support Kazakhstan in reducing carbon emissions, advancing clean energy, and attracting greater international capital and technology.
“This initiative will significantly advance the localisation of wind turbine and energy storage system production, driving Kazakhstan’s transition to a sustainable energy future while fostering economic growth and innovation.”
The project will stabilise Kazakhstan’s energy supply, reduce its reliance on external energy imports and enhance national energy security.
It supports Kazakhstan’s sustainable energy goals by promoting local economic development and increasing renewable energy capacity.
Envision Energy is recognised globally for its contributions to green power, including smart wind power, energy storage systems and green hydrogen solutions.
In early 2024, Envision Energy established a joint venture (JV) with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and Vision Industries.
The partnership will manufacture and assemble key renewable energy components including blades, nacelles and hubs.
