OCP Group and ENGIE sign partnership in Morocco

OCP Group and ENGIE have signed a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating OCP Group's energy transition and supporting the Kingdom of Morocco's ambitions for sustainable energy. This partnership was officially announced on October 28th in Rabat, in the presence of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.
This Joint Development Agreement (JDA) includes the development of several major initiatives:
- Renewable Energy: Developing renewable energy capacity, coupled with storage solutions to ensure flexibility within the energy network.
- Electrical Infrastructure: Creating on-site infrastructures to efficiently connect these new energy sources.
- Green Ammonia: Developing green ammonia production capacity, alongside feasibility studies for other green hydrogen derivatives, such as e-methanol and e-SAF.
- Sustainable Desalination: Developing water desalination capacity to support agriculture in regions where OCP Group operates.
- Research and Innovation: Implementing a research and innovation agenda to enhance the Group's competitiveness and explore new opportunities.
By joining forces, the OCP Group and ENGIE, a leader in the energy transition, are creating a unique industrial platform that will generate local economic opportunities and support job creation. This partnership also addresses current energy and environmental challenges, contributing to a sustainable future for Morocco.
This collaboration aligns with ENGIE's strategy to develop low-carbon energy solutions and strengthen its presence in Morocco.
