The Y. Elites Association from Hong Kong Visits the ACC
30 August 2024On 26 August 2024, the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) hosted a visiting delegation from the Y. Elites Association from Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China.
Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ACC expounded on the ACC’s mandate and achievements. He stressed that, in the process of advancing ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the ACC consistently attaches great importance to Hong Kong’s advantages in its geographical location, strategic resources and pool of talents, promotes better alignment of cooperation demands between ASEAN and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and gets more concrete projects materialized, so as to continuously enrich the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between ASEAN and China.
Executive Vice Chairman Wong Chun-Tat briefed the ACC on the history of Y. Elites Association and its founding purpose. He also updated on the preparations on the upcoming Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Youth Forum 2024 Hong Kong Conference, and underlined that the Association would like to draw on Hong Kong’s resources, bear in mind the regional picture, and bring into full play the bridging role of the ACC with shared resources and enhanced capacity, so as to make more contributions to the building of an even closer ASEAN-China community of a shared future.
During the Q&A session, Shi Zhongjun and visiting guests have an in-depth exchange of views on such issues as strengthening practical cooperation between Hong Kong and ASEAN countries, and talent development in international organizations.
