Skanska signs agreement for construction work at NKT's cable factory in Sweden

Skanska has signed an additional agreement with NKT HV Cables AB regarding construction work for towers and associated side buildings as part of the expansion of a cable factory in Karlskrona, Sweden. The new contract is worth approximately SEK 700M, which will be included in the order bookings for Sweden in the third quarter of 2024.

The new contract is worth approximately SEK 700M, which will be included in the order bookings for Sweden in the third quarter of 2024.
The existing cooperation agreement between the parties, for parts of the expansion of NKT's cable factory in Karlskrona is now supplemented with yet another contract linked to construction works for tower construction and associated side buildings.
NKT is a leading manufacturer of high voltage cables. High-voltage cables are an enabler for increased installation of renewable energy sources and an important part of climate change in both Sweden and abroad. NKT's investment will contribute to developing the distribution of renewable energy sources and increasing technological development in Blekinge and Sweden.
The construction work will start immediately and is planned to be completed in June 2025.
