CEEC-aided Project of Government Buildings in Vanuatu Passes Acceptance Checks

A China-aided project undertaken by China Gezhouba Group Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CEEC, for the Vanuatu Presidential Palace, office buildings for the Ministry of Finance and Economic Management and extension of the office building for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and External Trade, successfully passed its final acceptance checks on June 23.

The project has achieved an outstanding performance, receiving an excellent comprehensive evaluation score as a complete foreign aid project and a commendable rating for its engineering quality.

Situated in the heart of Port Vila, the capital of Vanuatu, the project covers a total floor area of approximately 6,849 square meters. It includes the construction of office spaces, auxiliary facilities, perimeter walls, roads, landscaping, and green areas, among other outdoor amenities.

Commencing in March 2022, the project faced various challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic, hurricanes, and adverse weather conditions during the hot and rainy season.

Despite these obstacles and limited local resources, the project team successfully completed the project, earning full recognition from the Vanuatu government.

Over the course of seven days, from June 17 to 23, a comprehensive inspection was conducted to assess various aspects of the project, including civil engineering, interior decoration, water supply and drainage systems, electrical installations, ventilation and air conditioning, elevators, and energy-saving systems.

Through thorough examination of reports, document reviews, on-site inspections, and meticulous evaluations, the overall construction quality of the project was acknowledged, leading to unanimous approval for its final acceptance.
