The Project of the African Ghana Asogli Phase II was Honored the Ghana-West African Business Excellence Awards for the Power Generation Company of the Year
28 May 2024Recently, the project of two 9E gas turbine power plants of the African Ghana Asogli Phase II 360MW, which is EPC contracted and maintained by China Energy Engineering Group Guangdong Power Engineering Co., Ltd., was honored the "Ghana-West African Business Excellence Awards for the Power Generation Company of the Year".
The project was put into operation in 2017, and it only took 11 months to complete the construction task of the first unit, refreshing the record of the construction speed of similar power generation projects in Africa. The completion of the project has effectively improved Ghana's electricity supply capacity, providing 20% of the nation's electricity. Currently, Guangdong Power Engineering is responsible for the minor class, B class, and major class equipment maintenance, and corresponding equipment technical transformation and upgrade services for the entire Phase I and II plants. Since undertaking the routine maintenance of the equipment, Guangdong Power Engineering has continuously strengthened preventive maintenance of the equipment, fully recognized by the power plant for its work in optimizing operation and equipment management. It is now playing an important role in terms of the safe and stable operation of the power plant locally.
