CHN Energy Java Power Plant Awarded Blue PROPER Rating
21 May 2024On May 7, CHN Energy Java Power Plant was awarded the 2023 Blue PROPER Rating by the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry in recognition of its achievements in environmental protection. This marked the second consecutive year the company has received this honor.
CHN Energy Java Power Plant is the first million-kilowatt-level overseas IPP coal-fired power project built by China. It is the largest overseas coal-fired power plant invested and constructed by a Chinese company, with the largest single-unit capacity. This project is a high-efficiency and environmentally friendly power plant with the greatest capacity, highest parameters, most advanced technology in Indonesia so far.
During the joint construction of CHN Energy Java Power Plant, China and Indonesia actively planned and implemented mangrove and wildlife ecological protection projects, vigorously promoting the restoration and replanting of mangroves. The mangrove area in the coastal region of CHN Energy Java Power Plant has increased from nine hectares during the infrastructure construction period to nearly 20 hectares. Nearly 3,000 seabirds of various species have nested and settled in this mangrove forest, and diverse species such as lizards, Javan mongooses, snakes, crabs, and fish naturally breed there, creating an amazing picture of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. CHN Energy Guodian Power has thus initiated the international environmental campaign “Rebirth of Mangrove Forests”.
