Acciona, Dragados, FCC and Sacyr in the running for Valencia port terminal
12 April 2024The Port Authority of Valencia in Spain has announced that four teams have entered bids to build a northern expansion for its container terminal.
All the consortiums vying for the contract have a presence in the city. They are:
- Acciona Construcción, Grupo Bertolin and Jan De Nul
- Dragados, Dravo, Dredging International España, Rover Maritime, Torrescamara
- Boscalis, FCC Construcción, Pavasal
- Agrupacion Quinovart Obras y Servicios Hispania, Becsa, Sacyr Construcción, Sociedad Anónima Trabajos y Obras.
Given the green light in 2023, the North Terminal will have a 137ha surface area, with a 1,970m berthing line, which will allow it to accommodate five million containers a year.
It is located in the sheltered waters of the northern extension which was completed in 2012.
