Song Hailiang, Board Chairman of Energy China, met with Darmawan Prasodjo, President Director of Indonesia's state-owned electricity company PLN, in Jakarta on March 21, local time.

Both sides had an in-depth exchange of views on deepening strategic cooperation in green and low-carbon energy and working together to support the clean development of Indonesia's energy industry.

Song Hailiang expressed his gratitude to PLN for the trust and support it has always given to Energy China.

He said Energy China is accelerating its four major transformations towards innovation-driven, green and low-carbon, digital, as well as shared and integrated development, building platforms for new energy, new infrastructure and new industry in a systematic manner, and pursuing managing internationalization, personnel localization, and resource allocation globalization, thus enjoying unique strengths in technologies, experiences, models and solutions.

PLN is a leading electricity company in Indonesia and a globally renowned power investor, Song Hailiang noted, adding that Energy China and PLN share a solid foundation for cooperation and highly compatible development directions.

He hoped that the two companies will further boost strategic mutual trust on the basis of existing cooperation and jointly promote technological development and innovation in key areas such as new power systems, industrial parks, smart grids, high-altitude wind energy, green hydrogen, ammonia and alcohol integration, and new-type energy storage.

Song Hailiang also hoped that Energy China and PLN will work together to identify a number of demonstrative projects, provide Indonesia with systematic and comprehensive solutions for its energy structure transformation, and contribute to the realization of net-zero carbon emissions in the world.

Darmawan Prasodjo welcomed Song Hailiang and the delegation he led, expressing appreciation for Energy China's expertise and rich experience in the energy and power sector.

Energy China is a leader in the global energy and power industry, with a complete industrial chain and obvious innovation advantages, making it a trustworthy partner, Darmawan Prasodjo noted.

PLN is willing to work with Energy China to seize energy development opportunities, establish a long-term and smooth communication mechanism, give full play to their respective advantages, deepen cooperation in new energy and smart grids, build a new energy industrial park with a focus on Indonesia and covering other ASEAN members, and accelerate the implementation of a batch of green power projects, thus making positive contributions to tackling the global climate challenge, Darmawan Prasodjo added.

After the meeting, the two sides signed a Joint Ddevelopment Study Agreeement(JDSA) concerning Development of Comprehensive Energy Projects for Captive Power Market.

Deputy President Director Sinthya Roesly, Hartanto Wibowo, Adi Lumakso, and Edwin Nugraha Putra, President Director of PLN IP, as well as Li Lina, Chief Accountant of Energy China, and heads of relevant departments from the two sides were present at the meeting.

During his stay in Indonesia, Song Hailiang also paid a visit to Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Lu Kang and Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
