Shandong Port Group (SPG) held its 2024 business promotion conference and West Asia branch unveiling ceremony on March 1 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), marking a major step forward in increasing its international presence and further enhancing its brand visibility. The move will inject strong impetus into SPG's efforts to build a world-class port cluster in Shandong, become a Double-First class enterprise and increase its competitiveness.
The event witnessed the launching of SPG West Asia Logistics FZE and the signing of several cooperation agreements between Qingdao Port and Emirates Shipping Line FZE, SPG Investment Holdings Group and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited Abu Dubai Branch, Bank of China Abu Dhabi Branch, SPG Logistics Group and PALGON, Abu Dhabi Shipping Agency LLC, and SPG Trade Group and China Zhenhua Oil Co Ltd, as well as SPG West Asia Logistics FZE and YONGTAIYUN Chemical Logistics Co Ltd.
Ports are transportation hubs and windows connecting the world, playing vital roles in promoting international economic and trade cooperation and regional economic growth. Over the years, by leveraging its role as a fundamental and pivotal facility, SPG has effectively cooperated with UAE enterprises and ports in areas such as port operation management and overseas warehouse construction.
The establishment of the West Asia branch will better leverage SPG's advantages, increase direct services between Shandong and UAE, facilitate resource circulation between Shandong and UAE, and help more Chinese-made products be exported to UAE and beyond.
