Skanska builds multi-family houses in Gothenburg, Sweden, for about SEK 340M

Skanska has signed an agreement with Elof Hansson Fastigheter and Riksbyggen to build a new residential block and commercial premises at Masthuggskajen in Gothenburg, Sweden. The contract is worth about SEK 340M, which will be included in the order bookings for Sweden in the first quarter of 2024.

In total, there will be 114 new apartments in the block where Riksbyggen is responsible for 69 condominium apartments and Elof Hansson Fastigheter is responsible for 45 rental apartments and approximately 3,000 square meters of commercial premises.
There will be a total of three houses that are linked together. A three-storey building flanked by two 18-storey buildings where the commercial premises are placed on the lowest floors and the residences above.
Sustainability is an important focus area in the construction project. One goal is to achieve a 25 percent combined climate reduction from concrete and reinforcing steel during production. The project will be environmentally certified according to Miljöbyggnad, level Silver.
Preparatory work is underway and construction is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2024. The houses are to be completed in the spring of 2027.
