HOCHTIEF subsidiary completes world’s second tallest skyscraper

HOCHTIEF subsidiary Turner, the leading building construction management company in North-America, celebrated the inauguration of Merdeka 118 by the King of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur.
The HOCHTIEF subsidiary acted as project management consultant for the new 118-storey skyscraper. In addition to the high-rise, the project also included a shopping center, residential towers and infrastructure works. “We are very proud of the inauguration of this magnificent tower,” said C.J. Chen, Turner's country manager and project director in Malaysia. Chen calls Merdeka 118 “a monumental project that is one of the greenest skyscrapers in the world.” At 678.9 meters, it is the second tallest building in the world after the Burj Khalifa in Dubai (828 meters, United Arab Emirates), for which Turner also served as project management consultant.
Turner has worked on more than 100 skyscrapers exceeding 150 meters in height. In Germany, HOCHTIEF delivered a significant contribution to the skyline in Frankfurt, including the Messeturm and the Commerzbank Tower, Germany's tallest building at 259 meters.
