OHLA awarded a new contract in Chile for more than €20 million

OHLA has been awarded a contract in Chile to improve the National Police Intelligence Headquarters for the Chilean Investigation Police (PDI) in Nuñoa. This is a contract for the Ministry of Public Works with a contract value of more than 20 million euros.
On a plot of 8,100 m2, a new volume of 9,200 m2 will be built with 2 underground levels and 4 above-ground levels, which will include offices, work and meeting rooms, multipurpose rooms, shifts, armories, archives, warehouses, and dressing rooms, among others.
The structure will be made of reinforced concrete with rigid seismic frames, protected glass facades and high-security access. The project also includes the improvement and remodeling of the 3,582 m2 of office space currently occupied by the Chilean Investigation Police (PDI).
The new Central Criminalistics Laboratory of Chile (Lacrim), the most modern forensic analysis center in South America, built by OHLA, was inaugurated at the end of 2021. The complex houses the forensic investigation activities of the Chilean Investigative Police (PDI) and will allow Lacrim’s 17 specialties and more than 190 forensic services to be carried out with the highest quality standards.
Relevant projects in the country
Throughout 2023, the company has announced the award of major projects in Chile. These include the construction of the third phase of the Bicentennial Bridge, participation in a contract for Minera Spence in the Antofagasta region, a world reference mining company, new works for Codelco and the construction of the National Cancer Institute in Santiago.
