Skanska has won a $146m contract from New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority to replace 21 subway escalators throughout the city.

The design-build project also sees the company upgrading escalator machine rooms.

Ten of the new escalators will be installed at Lexington Ave/63rd Street Station.

21st Street/Queensbridge Station will get six.

Park Place Station gets two, while one each goes to 51^st Street, High Street, and Franklin Avenue stations.

Skanska said work starts this month and is expected to finish in February 2027.
