Saudi Arabia invites EOI for the New Abha International Airport Project

The Saudi Civil Aviation Holding Company (MATARAT) in collaboration with National Center for Privatization & PPP (NCP), invite submissions of Expressions of Interest (EOI) from interested parties for the proposed Abha Airport Public Private Partnership Project located in Abha City.
The Project is a Public Private Partnership (“PPP”) initiative intended to meet the objectives from the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 Plan. In addition the Project is also intended to align with all relevant major national strategies, specific to the National Transportation and Logistics Strategy, National Aviation Strategy and Aseer Economic Development Strategy.
Project Scope includes the following:
- New passenger terminal building, with a target date for inauguration by 2028, constructed in two phases to be able to accommodate more than 13 million passengers
- New Rapid Exit Taxiway on the current runway
- New apron to serve the new terminal
- Access roads to the new terminal building
- New car park area
- Support facilities expansions including but not limited to: Electrical substation expansion, New sewage treatment plant
The Project will be awarded on Build-Transfer-Operate (BTO) model.
The primary agreement that will be entered between the MATARAT and the Project Company for a period of 30 years and covering the obligations of the Project Company for the design, financing, build and operation of Abha Airport.
Interested Bidders need to submit EOI by 31 January 2024.
