1 December 2023
Skanska has won a contract to build “Malmö Designer Village”, billed as Scandinavia’s biggest outlet mall, near Malmö in Skanska’s home country, Sweden.
The village will be a 25-minute drive north of Malmö in the Öresund region, near Kävlinge and Löddeköpinge.
Developer Rioja Estates said it was investing some €150m in the venture.
It said the village will have 3.8 million people within a 90-minute drive, including the populations of Malmö and Copenhagen in Denmark.
Its shops will sell premium international and Swedish brands. The village will have restaurants, cafes, and landscaped grounds.
