Skanska has signed an $834m contract with the Washington State Department of Transportation to expand and improve a 7.2km section of the I-405 corridor in Bothell.

The project will create a dual express toll lane system from south of the I-405/SR 522 interchange to the I-405/SR 527 interchange.

Work on the project includes building lanes, direct access ramps, interchange improvements, bus infrastructure and fish passage culverts.

Construction is due to begin in November and with be completed in late 2028.
