CHN Energy and Eskom Signed MoU on Cooperation

Recently, just before the 15th BRICS Summit, CHN Energy and Eskom signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation in Johannesburg, South Africa. Wang Min, member of the Board of Directors and deputy secretary of the Party Leadership Group of CHN Energy, and Calib Cassim, acting CEO of Eskom, attended the signing ceremony and conducted talks on deepening cooperation between the two sides.
The signing of this MoU is expected to promote the implementation of the consensus reached by the two governments, give full play to their respective technical and management advantages in the power field on the basis of previous close cooperation, and advance strategic cooperation in the field of traditional and renewable power generation. According to the MoU, the two sides will strengthen technical exchanges and cooperation in areas like project development and construction, management improvement, energy conservation, pollution reduction. They will also join hands to improve South Africa's coal-fired power security and development of new energy such as wind and photovoltaic power. CHN Energy will provide diversified training programs for Eskom to share its mature experiences in construction, operation and management, so as to achieve mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation.
Eskom is a key power supplier in South Africa. It ensures reliable power supply to meet South Africa’s demand and plays a vital role in boosting the country’s economic growth.
