Uzbekistan launches tender for 5 hydropower power projects
24 August 2023
Uzbekistan’s JSC Uzbekhdroenergo launched a tender for five new hydropower plants with a total capacity of 46.6 megawatts on a public-private partnership (PPP) basis.
In a statement, the country’s Ministry of Energy said JSC is seeking private sector developers or consortium/consortia to develop, finance, construct, own and operate the projects during the concession period.
Those who wish to participate can submit a statement of qualification as part of the requirements.
The government follows an internationally acceptable and bankable framework to promote the inflow of foreign direct investment, develop a positive track record in project implementation, and offer a balanced risk allocation between the private and public sectors.
It also aims to achieve diversity in the generation mix, ensure a fair and transparent tender process and achieve a competitive tariff to generate value for money.
