RFS launched for 200 MW wind power project in India

Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) has launched a request for selection (RFS) to invite bids to procure 200 MW of wind power on a long-term basis from intrastate projects. 

MSEDCL will enter into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the winning bidder for the purchase of wind energy for a maximum period of 12 years or the remaining useful life of the wind turbine generator from the PPA date or the Power Purchase Agreement (EPA) expiration date for existing projects wind energy. The selected bidders will be responsible for the transmission of electricity to the point of connection and energy metering infrastructure. The wind power generator will be allowed to repower the project as per its requirement for a maximum cumulative period of six months during the entire PPA term of up to 12 years. 

MSEDCL has set a wind power project minimum capacity of 0.225 MW and above at one site with a minimum application capacity of 0.225 MW. The maximum tariff for the tender is INR2.65 (US$0.032) per kWh. Bidders will be required to pay INR10,000 (US$120.9) plus GST as an application processing fee and INR100,000 (US$1,209) per MW per project as a deposit.
