Tender issued for USD267.6 million Band PPP project in Peru

PROINVERSIÓN in coordination with the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) has launched a tender seeking bidders for the AWS-3 frequency band public-private partnership (PPP) project in Peru.
The selected bidder will be responsible for the expansion and the development of mobile broadband systems in Peru at the national level, for technologies such as 4G, 5G or higher. The AWS-3 and 2.3 GHz Bands will allow offering better coverage characteristics and greater data capacity. The AWS-3 frequency band is divided into two blocks, 2x15 MHz block A and 2x15 MHz block B, to allow a bidder to submit a bid for one or both blocks. For its part, the 2.3GHz band supports a single 30 MHz block. Block allocation will be determined solely on the basis of offers made by bidders.
The US$267.6 million project intends to improve the quality of their communications and receive distance education and telemedicine services. The schedule for the new stage of the prequalification of bidders is until April 5, 2023.
The last date to submit the interest is February 28, 2023.
