10 January 2023
CPB Contractors, the construction company of the CIMIC Group, has been selected by the NSW Government to deliver the main works construction on the Nepean Hospital Redevelopment Stage 2.
The package of works, which is part of the NSW Government’s $1 billion expansion and upgrade of Nepean Hospital and community-based services, includes the construction of a new clinical tower, the refurbishment of other buildings and the upgrade of stormwater and support services. The project will generate revenue of approximately $260 million to CPB Contractors.
A new 14-storey clinical tower as part of Nepean Redevelopment Stage 1 was successfully completed by CPB Contractors last year.
CIMIC Group Executive Chairman Juan Santamaria said: “We are pleased to have another opportunity to use our building expertise to deliver essential infrastructure for the people of Western Sydney, delivering a new building that will seamlessly connect to the Stage 1 tower. We have a long-term commitment to the region and are involved in delivering assets and infrastructure that will benefit the community for decades to come.”
CPB Contractors Managing Director Jason Spears said: “CPB Contractors successfully delivered the redevelopment of the Campbelltown Hospital and Nepean Hospital’s Stage 1 and our teams will use this experience to minimise any disruption to the health campus. We will ensure that local training, employment and supplier opportunities are maximised as we safely deliver this project.”
CPB Contractors is involved in the delivery of other projects in Western Sydney including the western section of the M12 motorway, Western Sydney International Airport, Parramatta Light Rail and the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport line.
Stage 2 main works construction will commence in 2023.
