Pakistan's Sukkur- Hyderabad Motorway awarded to Italian construction company

An Italian construction company is to work on the Sukkur- Hyderabad Motorway (M-6) in Pakistan’s Sindh Province with two local companies.
Pakistan's Federal Ministry for Communications and Postal Services has approved awarding a contract to the Techno Consortium. This comprises two local firms, Techno and ACC as well as an Italian construction company called Cooperativa Muratori e Cementisti (CMC) di Ravenna. The deal is for the construction Sukkur- Hyderabad Motorway (M-6) in Pakistan's Sindh Province.
This is a mega project comprising featuring three lanes in either direction and will be completed in 30 months.
While giving a briefing on this occasion, Federal Secretary Communications and chairman National Highway Authority (NHA) Captain (R) Muhammad Khurram Agha said that 15 interchanges, one major bridge on the Indus River, 19 overpass bridges, 82 bridges on canals and six flyovers would be built on this 306km long motorway. He said that Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway (M-6) project is the last missing section of the Peshawar- Karachi Motorway (PKM), the construction of which will provide the motorway facility between Karachi and Peshawar.
He said a 61km service road would also be constructed along this motorway. He apprised that this motorway will cost more than 307 billion rupees. The speed limit on this motorway will be 130km/h, and the facility of service areas and rest areas on both sides of the motorway will be available at a distance of every 50km. This motorway will pass through Jamshoro, Hyderabad, Matiari, Benazirabad, Nowshehro Feroze, Khairpur and Sukkur, which will generate economic and social development in these areas.
