NESMA awarded $86.9m Jafurah 380kV Substation

Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) awarded the project, Construction of Jafurah 380/230kV Substation. The Project location is in eastern region of Saudi Arabia.
The Project has been awarded to Saudi based construction firm, NESMA Infrastructure & Technology Co. Ltd, a subsidiary of NESMA Holding.
The value of the contract is SAR 326 million (USD 86.9 million).
Project scope of work includes construction of new indoor 380/230kV Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) with major equipment of 380kV GIS, 230kV GIS, 752MVA Power Transformers, Reactors, Protection & Control System, Substation Automation System, Telecommunication System, Security System, Cyber Security, Civil works and Electro-mechanical works.
The Contractor shall perform on Lump sum turnkey basis, the design, engineering, materials procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, installation, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning, all associated work and services until final handing over of substation work in a satisfactorily working and operating condition.
The Jafurash gas field is the largest natural gas field in the Kingdom, stretching 170 km by 100 km, is estimated at 200 trillion cubic feet of rich raw gas.
