Transport development plans for Hanoi being drawn up

The authorities in the Vietnamese city of Hanoi are drawing up new transport development plans. The works will be carried out to improve the city’s transport system, with the plan lasting until 2030 and on until 2045. The aim of the programme will be to improve traffic flow and also deliver a more sustainable network.
Included in the programme of works will be the construction of 10 new bridges spanning the Red River. The bridges over the Red River will inlcude structures at Van Phuc, Phu Xuyen, Tran Hung Dao and Ngoc Hoi. New bridges spanning the Duong River will also be built. In addition, seven new routes, including ring roads, expressways and highways, with a total length of 285km will also be built.
