Uzbekistan to allocate $115 million to improve management of high-voltage power transmission networks

According to the Ministry of Energy, introduction of these modern digital technologies is expected to improve the control process, improve the management and operation of high-voltage transmission network.
As part of the SCADA/EMS/RTU and Telecommunications and Fiber Optic Cables project, National Electric Networks is raising funds from the World Bank in the amount of $115 million to cover the costs associated with installing information systems, purchasing optical cables, as well as goods, works, consulting and non-consulting services.
As part of the project, digital devices will be installed at 113 substations and 2,900 kilometers of a fiber-optic communication network will be laid. It is planned to create a new technical and software complex for supervisory control and data acquisition, as well as a power supply management system. At the same time, promptly eliminate possible accidents, remotely transmit data online.
The competition is open to all eligible companies and individuals. It is expected that after negotiations on the project, the World Bank will publish the agreed preliminary procurement plan and all updates on its official website.
Bids will be accepted until November 30.
