30 July 2022
Sacyr Engineering and Infrastructures, Sacyr’s construction division, has won a contract to build an 11-km road in Florida (USA), with a US$153 million (€150 million) budget. The project, awarded by Collier County, has a 36-month deadline. The road, Vanderbilt Beach Road Extension, is a roadway in southern Florida. Out of the total 11 km, 1.6 expand the existing road and the remaining 9.4 km are new construction. This project includes the reconstruction and reconditioning of Massey St and the excavation of a 3.2 km trench section to relocate the current one.
Growth in the US
This new contract in Florida consolidates Sacyr’s growth in the US. Sacyr started its activities in 2018 with several road construction projects in Florida. Since then, Sacyr has won 14 projects in Florida and Texas, and it currently has a construction portfolio worth more than €1,000 million.
In 2020, Sacyr Concesiones won its first contract in the US to manage and maintain the University of Idaho’s power and water utility systems for 50 years.
Increasing our presence in English-speaking countries, like the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Australia is one of the goals in our 2021-2025 Strategic Plan.
