Mota-Engil wins Compostela maintenance

Portugal-based construction Mota-Engil has secured a US$703.71 million public-private partnership contract for the maintenance and operation two motorway sections in Mexico.
The sections are between towns of Compostela and Las Varas as well as between Ramal and Compostela in the southern state of Nayarit and close to the Pacific Ocean and the holiday resort of Puerto Vallarta.
Mota-Engil operates in 24 countries in Europe, Africa and Latin America, with holdings in over 200 companies. Through Lineas and its subsidiaries, the group operates a network of around 2,500km of roads and motorways, including the two Lisbon bridges in Portugal.
Its maintenance and operation activities within Mexico includes the 60km between Perote and Xalapa up to 2053, the 279km APP Tamaulipas up to 2028 and the 128km between Cardel and Poza Rica up to 2045.
Last March, Mota-Engil won a $151.4 million construction project by the Kenyan Urban Roads Authority, KURA.
