ACWA Power's Rabigh 3 IWP, located in Rabigh, West Saudi Arabia, utilizes the most advanced reverse osmosis technology to yield a capacity of 600,000 cubic meters per day. The innovative design of this project ensures the highest efficiency, reliability, and availability for any comparable project in the world. The water output caters to the water demand of Makkah al-Mukarramah and Jeddah, which ensures consistent, reliable and steady water supply to more than 1 million households of the two cities and villages, especially during demand peak periods such as the Holy Month of Ramadan and Hajj seasons.

Earlier, Rabigh 3 IWP has been recognized as the World’s Largest Reverse Osmosis Desalination Facility by the Guinness World Records™.

ACWA Power is a global pioneer and leader in applying reverse osmosis technology towards desalination projects. The company commenced its journey with the Shuaibah Expansion IWP launched in the fourth quarter of 2009, supplying 150,000 cubic meters of water per day. This facility was the first project of its kind at the time to deploy reverse osmosis technology with a production capacity at this scale. Since then, ACWA Power has continued to harness reverse osmosis technology and developed its capabilities to maximize production capacities, resulting in the development of the 600,000 cubic meters per day Rabigh 3 IWP.
