Shell plans 17 GW of offshore wind across Brasil
23 March 2022Oil and gas major Royal Dutch Shell Plc has filed requests with environmental regulator Ibama for environmental licensing regarding 17 GW of offshore wind projects.
According to the announcement made on Friday by Shell Brasil, the company plans to develop six offshore wind projects spreading from the North to the South.
More details on the projects are available in the table below.
Shell has submitted the activity characterisation forms (FCAs) to Ibama to make sure that proper studies are carried out in relation to the areas in which it seeks to implement the projects.
Environmental studies are expected to commence this year.
