Nigeria, Morocco to Jointly Develop Solar Energy Project in Jigawa State
30 December 2021The Federal Government of Nigeria in collaboration with the National government of Morocco and the Jigawa State government, are working towards the development of a joint Solar Energy Project in Jigawa.
This was revealed by Sagir Musa Ahmed, Jigawa State Commissioner for Land, Housing, Urban and Regional Planning, during a Media Engagement Forum of the Jigawa State Correspondent Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) at Manpower Development Institute in Dutse.
He said that the planned Solar Energy Project in Jigawa will be developed on approximately 200,000 hectares of land in Gwiwa, a Local Government Area of Jigawa State and that the project aims to improve power generation and supply in the West African country, especially in Zamfara, Jigawa, Katsina and Yobe states.
