West Bengal Power Development Corporation Ltd (WBPDCL) has invited bids to set up an aggregate 22.5 MW of grid-connected floating solar PV power plants on different water ponds at its thermal power stations. The floating PV plants, to be set up on a turnkey basis, will come up at Bakreshwar Thermal Power Station in the Birbhum district, Santaldih Thermal Power Station in the Purulia district, and Sagardighi Thermal Power Station in the Murshidabad district.

The work scope for successful bidders includes design and engineering, manufacture/procurement, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of the solar plants on a turnkey basis. This also includes five years of comprehensive operation and maintenance. 

WBPDCL intends to finance the work with a grant from the government of West Bengal.

The Bakreshwar project completion period is 12 months from the award of the contract, 12 months for the Santaldih project, and ten months for the Sagardighi project.
