Brazilian energy trader 2W Energia has signed a preliminary supply contract with Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S for the Kairos wind power complex.
The agreement establishes the commercial conditions and schedule for the equipment supply, the company announced on Wednesday. According to 2W Energia's website, the particular complex will consist of five wind farms, located in the states of Ceara and Rio Grande do Norte, with a combined capacity of 260 MW. The project will require an investment of BRL 1.4 billion (USD 250m/EUR 221m).
The Brazilian company has placed an order for Vestas' V150-4.5 MW turbines, each with an individual capacity of 4.5 MW. The contract also includes the operation and maintenance of the wind turbines for a 15-year period.
For the deal to enter into effect some usual precedent conditions must be satisfied until the end of 2021, 2W Energia noted in its filling.
